We all know that being physically active is good for us, but not everyone can take part in activities like walking, cycling or aerobics classes. If that’s the case for you, but you want to keep active, then chair-based exercise could be just what you’re looking for. This is a low impact seated exercise class (which looks after the joints) and specifically designed for Ageing well and healthily and for adults of any age with mobility problems or recovering from an injury.
This seated exercise class to music focuses on exercising and strengthening the muscles used in everyday activity. The class is performed at a pace that suits participants and can be adapted to suit different abilities.
Falls are not an inevitable part of getting older and the good news is, falls can often be prevented. Steady and Strong classes for older adults have been developed by experts to increase your strength and balance, helping you to stay stronger for longer and able to keep doing the things you love. You will do a mix of seated and standing exercises, with chair support for those who need it.
A gentle beginners yoga class, perfect for those who are starting their yoga journey in a community setting. This is a 2pm class on a Thursday cost: £8 per session No contract, pay as you go system in operation
Level 1: 1 to 1.5 miles, flat or gentle slopes, no stiles and ideal for those able to complete 30-40 mins with minimal stops.
