Falls are not an inevitable part of getting older and the good news is, falls can often be prevented. Steady and Strong classes for older adults have been developed by experts to increase your strength and balance, helping you to stay stronger for longer and able to keep doing the things you love. You will do a mix of seated and standing exercises, with chair support for those who need it.
Bigger Faster Stronger is an introduction to exercise programme for currently inactive adults in bigger bodies who want to improve their health, wellbeing, strength, mobility and quality of life by moving more. This rolling programme of small group weekly sessions will allow those who are new to or returning to exercise to build confidence as well as fitness in a safe and supportive environment, led by a fitness instructor in a bigger body. Join our uplifting, online zoom class to include mindful breathing, stretching, chair warm ups, some optional standing dance at the end with great tracks & a fun vibe, most weeks we end with a short relaxation. Walking Netball is a slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. Sessions are full of fun, laughter and camaraderie. It is not a requirement to register in advance but if you choose not to follow the online registration process we do ask that you email the contact on this page so where possible, they are able to communicate with you should any cancellation occur. Mainly seated class to help support stronger bones, improve mobility and daily active living. Suitable for people who are at risk of falling or who have fallen previously and are gaining confidence.
A swim session for people with disabilities. Parents and carers are welcome.
Our online Tai Chi sessions are particularily suited to people who are unable to access face to face sessions. All abilities are welcome, you will be joined by our wonderful , experienced instructor Ruth, who will teach you a range of Tai Chi movements and breathing techniques.
