Otago is a muscle strengthening and balance retraining program developed and tested by the New Zealand falls prevention research group. The idea behind Otago is that muscle strength, balance, flexibility and reaction time can all be improved to reduce your risk of falling. The session will include use of chairs and ankle weights. Sessions for adults to swim socially, no lanes. These sessions are generally quieter and so may be more suitable for those living with dementia, neurodivergence and/or other long term health conditions
Instructor led sessions where participants are able to follow individually tailored exercise to meet their muscular skeletal conditions.
Sessions for all ages looking to build their water confidence for disabled people or those with long term medical or health conditions.
Class is gentle seated exercise for less mobile members. Suitable for people with mobility issues.
Inclusive exercise session led by Sport for Confidence. Sport for Confidence programmes place health professionals and specialist coaches into leisure centres, to provide inclusive sporting opportunities to people who face barriers to participation, including those with learning disabilities, mental health issues, dementia, autism, physical impairment or disability, homelessness, and many other complex health needs.
Beginners Only Aerial Silks class, with no more than 4 participants. You will need to complete a Health & Safety Pack no later than 48 hours before your first class.
