Wellbeing Walks are short walks, run by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. All walks are free of charge and are open to everyone – you don’t need to preregister, just come along and join us. The routes start and finish at the same location as advertised, and last between 30 and 90 minutes. Learn how to Nordic Walk with experienced leaders who will adapt the walk to suit all abilities. Poles will be provided. Nordic Walking tones the upper and lower body, reduces pressure on the joints and is great for burning calories. Every Wednesday 1:30-2:30pm. £1 per session. Limited spaces available. 1 hour to 1.5 hours , about 3 to 5 miles, moderate hills, possible steep inclines & stiles, faster pace. Talking with each other is an important part of our Health Walk, so we’ll try to stick to a pace that makes this possible. A brisk pace is our aim – walking as if we are late for an appointment. Children are welcome, however under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult and must also be registered as a health walker.

This is a 4 mile walk across easy terrain of tracks, paths and droves. There is a shorter circuit should anyone choose to opt for this on the day. By increasing the pace this walk could be an Intermediate walk or Gear 2 walk. Equally it would be suitable for Gear 1 walkers as it is flat and the ground condition is good.
