A New Year's walk around Tissington and the trail, to which family & friends are invited. We will walk 2-3 miles at a gentle pace without stiles. With the option of tea/coffee at Herberts Tearoom afterwards. If you would like to bring a friend or family member please let us know so that we have an idea of numbers. Poles not essential! The walk starts from the picture-perfect Avington Park. We follow footpaths by the river and through fields. Highland cattle can often be seen grazing peacefully and it feels like we are transported into a different time altogether. A mainly flat walk with some sections that can be muddy in wet weather but no stiles! After the walk there is the option to go to the Plough at Itchen Abbas for a lazy Sunday lunch or refreshments. We offer short walks of between 25 - 30 minutes at the pace of the slowest or least confident person and we are happy to stop and wait for anyone who needs to rest during the walks. The walk is usually followed by a refreshments and a chat.
