Sports For confidence Boccia – (Floor bowls) is a sport where players try to roll their ball (called a bowl) closest to a smaller ball (known as a “jack” or sometimes a “kitty”). The bowls are intentionally heavier on one side so that they turn when being rolled. The game can be played either in teams or one-on-one. PLEASE NOTE: If you have never used the toning suite before you are required an induction. Inductions are £11.80 and must be booked over the phone or in site (01472) 326875. You are only permitted to use the Toning Suite if you meet a certain criteria which will be authorised by the Fitness Supervisor.
Our aim is to encourage and promote sport to people with a disability to enable them to be physically active. Our sessions are led by enthusiastic and fully qualified coaches who will ensure that the participants have a great time and have an opportunity to to try a range of activities.
Our class is designed for people recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s or those with early/moderate-stage Parkinson’s. This exercise classes will help with strength, balance, movement and flexibility using body weight exercises.
Strength and balance exercises put into circuit stations including leg and arm strength exercises, balance, cardio, core, co-ordination, tai chi and floor work
Falls are not an inevitable part of getting older and the good news is, falls can often be prevented. Steady and Strong classes for older adults have been developed by experts to increase your strength and balance, helping you to stay stronger for longer and able to keep doing the things you love. You will do a mix of seated and standing exercises, with chair support for those who need it.

Boccia is a precision ball sport, similar to bocce, and related to bowls and pétanque. The name "boccia" is derived from the Latin word for "boss" – bottia. The sport is contested at local, national and international levels, by athletes with severe physical disabilities.
