Displaying local activities and events running in the next two weeks
1 hour to 1.5 hours , about 3 to 5 miles, moderate hills, possible steep inclines & stiles, faster pace. Talking with each other is an important part of our Health Walk, so we’ll try to stick to a pace that makes this possible. A brisk pace is our aim – walking as if we are late for an appointment. Children are welcome, however under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult and must also be registered as a health walker.
Tai Chi & Qi Gong seated classes for health - ideal for those with long term health issues, the elderly and infirm (e.g - Parkinson's, osteoporosis, cancer, arthritis, copd & respiratory issues, balance issues etc) For relaxation, health. fitness and well being. Improves balance, strength, flexibility, coordination, breathing, and so much more. Class content includes Qi Gong Chinese health exercises with slow body & breath work, adapted Tai Chi hand form movements, also adapted Fan Form.
Gentle stroll along canal towpath and around small fishing lake.
A slower-paced version of the sport for male and female participants. These sessions will help improve your fitness, health and well-being and you don’t need brilliant tennis skills to join in, just a desire for fun and enjoyment.
A fun and engaging gymnastics session adapted to be inclusive for all. Led by a fully qualified coach with all equipment provided. Please contact your local Centre for accessibility information.
A slower version of the game, it`s still netball, but played at a walking pace. The game has been designed so that anyone can play it, regardless of fitness level and sessions are taken by a trained activator. Don’t worry if you have forgotten the rules, as they will be able to help you on your way to getting back into the sport you love.
Working in partnership with Mind, we are bringing to the community the #runandtalk campaign. We aim to bring to the forefront just how important mental health and community is. We are holding a one off special event, free to all scavenger hunt for adults only. Unfortunately no four legged friends or two legged little monsters allowed on this one. We will have 4 pace groups heading out on the night which will accommodate most. Updates on these groups will be posted on our facebook page neare...
Join Charlie at Stanborough Park for some fun and fitness
Join us out on the bell boats for some fun on the lake The bell boat is a stable 10 seater boat. Every participant has a paddle which helps to propel the boat. Please wear clothes and footwear that do not matter if they get wet. Buoyancy aids will be provided. Each place booked comes with a free carer seat on the boat
