Join this free Wellbeing walk, for fresh air and fitness in a friendly environment. Wellbeing Walks are short walks, led by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. We run a recreational walking football session for ladies over 40 and men over 50. No experience necessary.
Short Mat Bowls is a social sport played indoors and our sessions are a fun way to learn how to play bowls and improve your skills in a friendly and relaxed environment. Games are played between teams of two (pairs) or three (triples) usually over six ‘ends’. These sessions are for those who have played before and those who would like to try something new. Equipment is provided but if you would like to bring your own bowls please do.
The classes are suitable for older adults who haven’t exercised before or who have started to experience a decline in their physical ability. There are two classes available: A Beginner/Intermediate class which lasts for 45 minutes and an Intermediate/Advanced class, which lasts for approximately 1 hour. Falls are not an inevitable part of getting older and the good news is, falls can often be prevented. Steady and Strong classes for older adults have been developed by experts to increase your strength and balance, helping you to stay stronger for longer and able to keep doing the things you love. You will do a mix of seated and standing exercises, with chair support for those who need it.
