Woodley Civic Hall, Hyde road, Woodley, SK6 1QG SMILE is a low impact and gentle exercise concept developed by Life Leisure. The programme provides a fun, engaging and adaptable exercise and physical activity sessions for older adults and those with long term health conditions or disabilities.
Gym session supervised by an Occupational Therapist and Sports Coach, supporting people with variety of disabilities. Carers welcome. Ages 16+ Max 8 people per session. Referral basis only.
Otago is a muscle strengthening and balance retraining program developed and tested by the New Zealand falls prevention research group. The idea behind Otago is that muscle strength, balance, flexibility and reaction time can all be improved to reduce your risk of falling. The session will include use of chairs and ankle weights. First class free.
Hampshire Healthy Families Ready Steady Walks are free, push-chair friendly, social walking groups for families with young children living in Hampshire. Ready Steady Walk is a good excuse to get out into the fresh air and give you the chance to meet local families in your community. Your local walking group will be led by a Barnardo’s volunteer, or your local community worker. The walking groups meet once a week at the same venue in your area, at the same day and time.
