The Explorer WALX will take you to various local countryside parks and nature reserves, following pathways and river courses around St Albans. Visit some of Hertfordshire's beautiful countryside, on varied terrain, these walks are ideal for anyone who wants to improve their fitness and enjoy the social side of walking.
We offer three different levels of walking groups to suit a variety of fitness levels and preferences: Walk Plus A brisk, faster-paced group (3.5 to 4 miles per hour), ideal for those who are generally fit and already walk regularly. A weekly walking group, offering individuals the chance to connect with others, take a stroll along our beautiful coastline enjoying fresh air and nature at Westgate, or take notice of the urban ecology and architecture in the town (depending on the weather!), all whilst taking part in some gentle physical activity. A relaxed group, using routes that are wheelchair and pushchair friendly. The fourth Monday of each month includes an informative themed talk, linked to the local area.

Houghton is beautiful, especially at this time of year. The trees are still spectacular even in the winter months. We’ll enjoy the labyrinth of paths that wind through the woods, giving us plenty of different route options to explore. The terrain can be muddy this time of year, so wear good shoes.
A pleasant walk from the quaint village of Tichborne. The route follows Allan King Way towards Gander Down then loops back with the final section heading north through Tichborne park.

This is a walk on footpaths and over stiles through fields around Denstone Hall Farm Shop crossing the Staffordshire countryside. Come and enjoy this Monday morning walk to get an active start at the beginning of your week.
