Join this free Wellbeing walk, for fresh air and fitness in a friendly environment. Wellbeing Walks are short walks, led by friendly, specially trained volunteer walk leaders, who are on hand to provide encouragement and support. This is a Falls Management Exercise Programme based on the nationally recognised FaME programme. Ideally suited to seniors / over 50 who have recently suffered a fall or are unsteady on their feet. This is a 24 week programme designed to improve mobility, stability and balance. The programme has been funded by the Northfield NNS / Birmingham City Council.
Simple but effective exercises, that will strengthen the whole body and improve both your balance and posture. Seated and standing exercises.
Using chairs and other props for support, this fun exercise class will help improve flexibility, balance and strength, while you make new friends. Sessions last for 45 minutes, with an opportunity for a cup of tea or coffee at the end! All ages and levels of fitness welcome, just bring yourself and an open mind.

Positive Movement is a very gentle exercise approach which combines techniques drawn from Adaptive Yoga (a well-researched method developed in America specifically for people with physical disabilities) with the principles and methods of the Alexander Technique (an approach which instils awareness of posture and movement) and with Mindfulness. Our combined Tai Chi and Qigong class starts with a gentle warm-up to calm the breathing and mind, and mobilise the body. Angela will guide you through the Tai Chi steps from the front of the hall, talking you through each of the movements. We will learn a new step or revisit and refine one each class, building on the previous movements to flow a sequence together.
