Come and join us for our uplifting Seafront Walk, where we meet every Friday morning at 10.30am outside the Pyramid Centre. This is a moderate paced walk along the seafront, taking in the fresh sea air as we walk. This walk is a flat walk, though there are optional steps to a higher level at Grand Parade. This walk finishes in the Palmerston Road shopping area where we head for refreshments afterwards.
The class is a slow mindful practice for nervous system resilience and is suitable for every body. When the nervous system is balanced all the internal organs work more effectively and you feel calm and peaceful inside. The class includes gentle stretches to lengthen the spine and improve posture and flexibility, breath awareness and deep relaxation to release stress and anxiety. Our weekly session includes both tai chi and qigong to boost the immune system, strengthen joints and tendons, improve balance and co-ordination, increase the internal strength of the body and provide a focussed way of dealing with stress. A great way to unwind for an hour. Join anytime - beginners always welcome. Participants must complete and submit a referral form prior to accessing this class This class is part of our BE ACTIVE … live well programme which is aimed at those with a health condition; the older adult; and/or those who haven't exercised before and don't know where to start. Seated exercise is a chair based exercise to music class, which is suitable for all levels.
A circuit based exercise class with stations to suit all abilities. Self-paced session for anyone new to exercise or needing extra support for health issues or injuries.
