This is a 3 mile walk along country lanes, hard tracks and a wooded path. It is 90% in the shade. There is a long steep hill at the start of the walk which is also in the shade, but thereafter the gradient is fairly easy. Gear 1 - A nice, easy and natural pace that you can do for extended periods with recovery periods where appropriate. Short hills might be introduced. Gear 2 - A faster pace gained through technique. There will be less recovery time.
A gentler-paced walk for those who wish to build up their fitness levels gradually and/or would like a shorter and more leisurely walk than our regular adventure walks. This very pleasant walk starts from Ripley, heads north following the Nidderdale Way, then loops round across Cayton Gill before returning to Ripley. The walk is about 3.5 miles, and takes around 90 minutes.
