Functional Fitness for Seniors is about exercising to improve your ‘function’ - the things you need to do in day to day life. The class focuses on those 'Fundamental' movements that we all need to make the most of our lives, both now and in the future. It is about undertaking exercises that support you in every day movements taking a whole body approach. *Strength, *Balance, *Endurance, * Agility *Co-ordination This class is fun and friendly too!

Steady and Strong classes for older adults have been developed by experts to increase your strength and balance, helping you to stay stronger for longer and able to keep doing the things you love. You will do a mix of seated and standing exercises, with chair support for those who need it.
Mixed ability Grade 1-2 up to 45 minutes, some moderate hills, brisk pace. Join us for a cuppa after in the Museum Cafe. If this is your first Health Walk, please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start so you can listen to a pre walk briefing. Positive Movement is a very gentle exercise approach which combines techniques drawn from Adaptive Yoga (a well-researched method developed in America specifically for people with physical disabilities) with the principles and methods of the Alexander Technique (an approach which instils awareness of posture and movement) and with Mindfulness.
