Join this free Wellbeing walk, for fresh air and fitness in a friendly environment. Grade 3 - 1 hour, about 3 miles, moderate hills, faster pace and possible stiles - (Steep hills on route). If this is your first Health Walk, please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start so you can listen to a pre walk briefing. This is an Intermediate/Gear 2 walk (the distance is greater than a Gear 1/Intermediate walk) of approximately 4 miles with a couple of different options according to the ground conditions. Maybe one or two short steep ramps and some longer hills can be included depending on sign ups, but as a rule the walk includes gentle inclines and hard tracks through woods. Level 2: Up to 3 miles, tracks and some hills or moderate pace. Intermediate walks, ideal for those looking to develop their walking fitness and able to complete 45-60 mins with minimal stops. Under 18’s may attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Starting out from South Stainley, and passing by the new eco houses, this walk crosses fields to join Station Lane at Burton Leonard. It then returns via Jackson Wood to emerge by the church at South Stainley. At 3.5 miles, the walk takes around 90 minutes.
