Upton heath is one of the largest fragments of a heath which stretched across central southern England from Dorchester to Christchurch. Views start immediately over Poole harbour to the hills of the Purbecks. Plenty of on street parking. A three mile walk with lots of interest. An all abilities walk. See below for description of the walk.
We offer short walks of between 25 - 30 minutes at the pace of the slowest or least confident person and we are happy to stop and wait for anyone who needs to rest during the walks. The walk is usually followed by a refreshments and a chat.

Sunday 'Extra' Walk - ideal for anyone training for a Challenge or those simply wanting a longer Sunday Walk. We'll have our usual Sunday morning walk (9.30 - 11am), possibly followed by a quick Coffee somewhere, depending on location, then we'll head off for an extra couple of hours. Grade 3 - 1 hour, about 3 miles, moderate hills, faster pace and possible stiles - Grade 4 - Up to 90 minutes, about 4 - 5 miles, possible steep inclines and stiles - (No walks on May 6, 27 Aug 26). If you enjoy walking in open green spaces then come along and try this walk over Milton Common. The ground can be rough and uneven but the views across the harbour to Hayling Island are lovely. You may also see some interesting birds in this area. Pathways may be wet and muddy so wear appropriate footwear.
