Walking football is played at walking pace, with players not allowed to run. This includes with the ball or off the ball, and includes jogging. You can ‘walk’ as fast as you want and walking as described in the rules is “one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times'”.
A slower-paced version of the world`s most popular sport, aimed at the over 50's. Smaller pitches and plenty of breaks ensure that participants enjoy a safe and enjoyable return to football. The slower pace doesn't detract from the competition though - it`s much more than just a stroll in the park!

Sport in Mind are delighted to present this free, welcoming and supportive football session at Prospect Park, Liebenrood Road, Reading, every Tuesday at 2-3.30pm. This session is open to anyone 17 years or older who is experiencing low mood, stress, social isolation or a mental health problem. It is free to attend, open to all abilities and all equipment is provided! Our group is ran by some fantastic Portland staff and volunteers and is a relaxed group where having fun is the number one priority. Sessions include a mix of fun and engaging mini games to help build your skills, as well as some competitive games too.
