This easy-going walk takes you along well-managed paths and tracks with gentle gradients. Starting at the coffee shop, the route leads through the ancient woodland of Park Wood and along the Palaeolithic raised beach. The walk then returns through the charming village of Slindon. Underfoot conditions: Good throughout the year. A wonderful walk and a great coffee stop.
This adventure walk is a 90 minute walk in gear 2 (minimum) - a great chance to increase your stamina if you're happy walking for this length of time with only minimal breaks for a quick drink! Matley wood is beautiful, especially in the sunshine through the autumn and on this circular route we walk through the middle of the wood and the perimeter where we’ll also have the lovely vistasacross open heath on one side, with the wood on the other.
