Falls are not an inevitable part of getting older and the good news is, falls can often be prevented. Steady and Strong classes for older adults have been developed by experts to increase your strength and balance, helping you to stay stronger for longer and able to keep doing the things you love. You will do a mix of seated and standing exercises, with chair support for those who need it.
A swim lane for registered disabled individuals and their carers. Where possible a double width lane will be provided to maximise social distancing. *Not available online*
Just like a regular yoga class practise. Chair yoga increases flexibility, strength and awareness. The class also includes pranayama breathing techniques and meditation to promote focus, mental clarity and relaxation.
Grade 1 - 30 minutes, about 1.5 miles, gentle hills, no stiles, Grade 2 - 45 minutes, about 2 miles, moderate hills, faster pace, possible stiles. If this is your first Health Walk, please arrive 10-15 minutes before the start so you can listen to a pre walk briefing. You don't need any special equipment but be sure to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes and bring a bottle of water.
