Otago is a muscle strengthening and balance retraining program developed and tested by the New Zealand falls prevention research group. The idea behind Otago is that muscle strength, balance, flexibility and reaction time can all be improved to reduce your risk of falling. The session will include use of chairs and ankle weights. For about an hour we will stride out, aiming to cover about 3 miles. This is an exercise session for those used to using their Nordic Walking Poles with the correct technique. A walk through the woods of Bidborough I need a minimum of 3 people for a walk. Please cancel by 6pm the day before a walk. If you need to cancel after this time or on the day of the walk, I would ask that you just let me know that you cannot attend and the walk will remain chargeable.
